Ducted Fan Methods Package

This module contains methods for analyzing and designing ducted fan propulsion systems. The methods support both low and medium-fidelity analysis.

The module provides functionality for:
  • Geometry generation and manipulation

  • Performance analysis and efficiency calculations

  • DFDC case setup and execution

  • Results processing and data handling

Ducted Fan Methods Package

append_ducted_fan_conditions(ducted_fan, ...)

Initializes ducted fan operating conditions for a mission segment.

compute_ducted_fan_performance(ducted_fan, ...)

Computes ducted fan performance characteristics using either Blade Element Momentum Theory (BEMT) or Rankine-Froude Momentum Theory.

design_ducted_fan(ducted_fan[, ...])

Designs and optimizes a ducted fan propulsor using either Rankine-Froude Momentum Theory or Blade Element Momentum Theory (BEMT) with DFDC integration.
